Jaimee Garbacik is a writer of young adult fiction and ethnographic nonfiction. They are the author of Gender & Sexuality For Beginners (For Beginners), and editor of the Ghosts of Seattle Past anthology (Chin Music Press), a finalist for the Washington State Book Award. Jaimee has been a developmental book editor for NYTimes bestselling and Caldecott Award-winning authors since the aughts; they also coach writers and consult on manuscripts for Hugo House. A long-time mentor to unhoused teens and former programming chair for an all-ages music venue, Jaimee believes vehemently in the power of youth voice and setting guitar amplifiers to eleven. They are currently working on a YA novel about a marginally unhoused teen skateboarder.
