Ava Pauline Emilione is a writer from Brooklyn. They are a 2025 PEN America Emerging Voices Fellow who has written for The Nation, Salon, Them, FRUITSLICE, Salty, and Expat Press. They are also the founding Editor-in-Chief of Ebony Tomatoes Collective, a literary magazine for Black and queer writers. Ava lives in Flatbush, Brooklyn with their partner and 20 plants, where they are working on their debut novel.
