Taqwa is a Palestinian-American aspiring writer and immigration attorney. She currently represents refugees from all over the world seeking protection from persecution and family reunification. She was an Immigrant Justice Corp Fellow, where she represented immigrants detained by ICE in Immigration Court. She holds both a J.D. and a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. She just began her writing journey last year, after becoming a mom to twins and watching them observe unfamiliar surroundings with such awe and wonder. She writes creative non-fiction and fiction, exploring themes of grief, family, identity, homecoming, and motherhood.
