Rae is a Cherokee writer, born to a family of Cherokees forced to walk to Indian Territory and German-Americans who settled during the land run. Her work examines the intersections of Cherokee identity, language, and the contemporary Indigenous experience. Rae’s writing has been published by the Fork Apple Press, The College Hill Independent, and is featured on the NDN Girls Book Club website. Her work has been supported by the Oklahoma Fashion Alliance, McCormack Writing Center, Four Mothers Collective, and Verses Literacy & Arts Event. She is currently based in Tulsa and occasionally writes under the nom de plume Kilo.
