Desiree S. Evans spins tales for children, teens, and adults. Hailing from the bayous of South Louisiana, her stories often explore ancestral memory, folklore, and magic, and the intersections of history and horror through the lens of Black Southern girlhood. Her fiction, nonfiction, and poetry have appeared in literary journals such as Callaloo, Gulf Coast, The Offing, and elsewhere.
